Art versus Exploitation

For centuries artists have been aware of the ability of the mind to influence the way the eyes view matter, one example of this phenomena is the painting above: there is only one bird, the leaves are painted in such a way as to appear to be leaves, however, the intent is that the leaves be imprinted subconsciously in the mind as a second bird, this technique is based on what’s called: an optical illusion.

Optical illusions can be used to manipulate and control the mind, as well as be used artistically for enhancing perception and its subtleties within the spectrum of human experience.

Most people have spent some time in their life observing clouds and imagining (or possibly seeing), different forms and beings in the cloud formations; however, the line between perception and optical illusion can become easily blurred, this fragility within human experience is exploited by politicians and industrialists selling products, and is used extensively in advertising.

Personally, I love art, and I believe human rights are violated when politicians and industrialists (with bankers lining their pockets) exploit the innocence of the mind’s multi-viewing capabilities.
