Walking in Darkness – Controlled Reality

Did you know that we are virtually blind? This is not a metaphor.

Eyesight
Interestingly, when asked, many would name the eyesight as our most valuable sense but in fact, our vision is pretty miserable. How much do we really see of the world that surrounds us?

Visual perception is the ability to interpret the surrounding environment by processing information that is contained in visible light (Wikipedia) but beside the visible light, there is so much more energy we don’t see at all. Our eyes can perceive electromagnetic waves only within a tiny rage of frequencies, just about 3,8·10^14 Hz (~780 nm) and 7,8·10^14 Hz (~380 nm). If you imagine a sky scraper that represents all the frequencies like infrared, microwave, ultraviolet and much more, our eyes can only see one single floor of that sky scraper. The rest lies concealed from our vision, and it’s not the end of our blindness. It goes farther.

Not all of what our eyes perceive is being forwared to our brain cells, so we could actually see it. Before the information of the visible light reaches our retina and proceeds to the brain, over 90% of it is filtered and compressed by cells which do their work first. Then the information has finally reached our photoreceptors of the retina. Just one more fact btw: only a very small area, called fovea centralis, can ‘see’ sharply. You can notice this effect when focusing on something and paying attention to how sharp you can see the rest of the environment without moving the eyes somewhere else.

We are pretty blind, aren’t we? Practically we walk in darkness.

So what is real now? Is real what we can sense with our vision, hearing, feeling, tasting, smelling and accordingly to neuroscientists with our equilibrium? We accept UV waves since we feel the sun rays on our skin. Wouldn’t they exist if we didn’t feel them? We accept mobile phones, radio waves and wifi as real because we have developed devices which can translate this kind of energy into a spectrum which is accessible by our senses. Would they be non-existent if we hadn’t developed those devices? Can we sum up as reality only what we can catch by our physical functions, or is there more that we have no clue about?

Dreams
What about dreams? Do you know the kind of dream from which you awake and are bewildered that what you have dreamed wasn’t real? You switch to the reality that is the real one as your senses try to tell you. Sometimes I had dreams so real that they have influenced my feelings about reality itself. What has felt real in my dream remained in my subconciousness and I had a tough time to convince my concious part of the brain that what I still felt wasn’t actually real. It belonged only to the dream.
Such experiences showed me that our reality is being created only within us, in our mind, and has nothing in common with the outside world.

butterfly “I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?”

~ Chuang Tzu

Visions
One of the torture techniques in Guantánamo military prison that has been also carried out in the course of the MK Ultra project is to seal the prisoner off of the reality. There are different ways to do it but the effect is that they don’t see anything (or see only a monotonous piece of the floor), don’t hear any distinguishable noises, can’t move and feel virtually nothing. Their orientation is killed and their senses to the outside world stop sensoring as there is nothing to sense.
Those people reported that after a while, they suddenly started to see things and scenes which didn’t exist. Their brain has created them and it created them to be as real as the reality we are used to. A similar effect, known as the Fata Morgana, can be observed in the desert, on sea or in wide polar ice regions.

What is real
We need our physical senses in order to share a reality in which we can coorparate and communicate with each other and the world needed by our body, but this is only a small piece of what is reality since reality is being created in our mind and is very individual. Beside the small world we share together, there are dreams, visions, imagination, intuition and probably even other realities we could share but can’t reach them yet. People hear voices in their heads, create tulpas or imaginary friends which are not less real to them than something from the ‘real world’. There are plants like Ayahuasca or other psychadelics and shamanistic techniques which open our mind for realities we are not able to see otherwise. The Natives are very well aware of it and accept them as a part of their life. Tibetan monks proved to be able of manipulating their body temperature only by the power of their mind. What do you call it? – Not real as it didn’t pass through our senses of the physical outside world? Non-existing as it hasn’t been censored by our eyes or ears or touch?

Out of control
From the scientific point of view we are virtually blind. We walk in darkness through a small piece of what we call reality. Our psychiatrists don’t like if you step outside. They offer you a proper pill in order to put you back into your cage. Nothing else but the cage exists. Why did our estimation of reality change so much in the modern world? Is it because we don’t have devices for messuring, controlling and manipulating the creation and perception of extended realities? They made many psychiadelics illegal but alcohol remained legal. Why is that so, as we know very well how destructive alcohol can be. The difference is that alcohol still keeps you in the cage. Psychadelics do not. They open up your mind to things outside the small world. Ayahuasca, for example, extends your vision for things you have long forgotton or were not aware of. Additionally, this plant showed to have incredible healing powers, respectively to awaken the concealed powers lying in ourselves. Our authorities, though, don’t want us to be out of (their) control. They want us only to see, hear and feel what they control and what is meant to be our reality – a reality that is profitable for those who control us. We are conditioned to accept it and are trained in ignorance towards everything else.

Who controls your reality controls you
I hope, at this point you will agree with me that reality is more than what we see or hear. I will even redefine it in ‘what we are showed and what we are told’. People in power try to convince us otherwise. Being aware of it is important in order to look outside the box and escape manipulation. People in power try to be our eyes which are, as you know, pretty blind. The media say: ‘Look, these are the facts and only these facts are real’. But they don’t tell you that they show you only facts they want you to know, hiding from you the whole picture in order to manipulate your political thinking. The doctor says: ‘Look, you have cancer but we have this wonderful chemotherapy for you’. He won’t tell you (maybe because he doesn’t know better) that there exist much better natural cures. Though, big pharma wouldn’t make profit by telling you that. The church says: ‘You must obey and don’t question anything what our holy book says as this is God’s will’. You can find such examples everywhere! All sides try to manipulate our reality for their own profit. Manipulation of reality is their daily business. Therefore, being aware of it is crucial if you are interested in finding the truth. Don’t let others tell you what is real. Reality is always what you look for and what you decide to be. Everything else is dust.
